Does the intensity or the duration of our exercise make a difference

Ideally it is great if we can get 30 or more minutes of moderate / high intensity activity most days of the week.

But to be honest – anything is better than nothing. Even 5-10mins of activity where our heart rate is mildly elevated will provide benefit. I often speak with people about doing a few flights of stairs, or some squats / pushups / star jumps or jogging on the spot (if your tight for space or time) and it can make a huge difference.

We are playing the long game here – just starting 5-10mins now will hopefully progress into 30 – 45mins over the coming weeks and months. The key thing is to start!

If possible – get outside. Sunshine and fresh air is good for the soul and a shot of Vit D from the sun can also make a difference. Getting outside also helps get some perspective after being stuck in the confines of a building / vehicle for long periods.
