Weight Loss Day 41

Day 41

Everyone has a different 10 Week program story, and what it means to them. Here’s a couple of brief testimonies from recent years.

43 year old male in Tasmania. Arthritis in both knees from a motor cycle accident many years before, young family of boys, carrying an extra 20kg than prior to the accident. Over the course of the 10WP, lost 15kg. That's the equivalent of around 60kg less pounding through each knee with every bowling delivery in the backyard with his boys. You think that changes a life – you bet it does.

39 year old woman in Queensland. Had not had a check up for a few years and was not aware that both her cholesterol and blood glucose levels were high. She had gradually put on 20kg over the last 10 years, and her risk of type 2 diabetes was immediate. Over the 10WP journey, she lost an amazing 11.5kg’s, and better still continued to maintain and even lose another couple of kg over the next 6 months.

Type 2 diabetes causes significantly increased risks to your health and quality of life. Your body loses the ability to properly control insulin, and relies on it being managed manually. The risk of eye, kidney, nerve and cardio vascular disease are all greatly increased.

Her positivity to health and life is infectious. The transformation has given her a renewed sense of vitality and wellbeing. You think that changes a life – you bet it does.

You think that it can change your life? – you bet it can.

There are so many fast fix fad diets in the marketplace that scream for our attention to lose weight fast. For the most part, they are unhealthy, not realistic, and not sustainable. They also send psychological cues to our brains that we can quick fix anything without really having to work at it, and often it send pretty poor messages to our children and family.

When you’re building a house, trying to cut corners, get it done as quick as possible, not using the right tools or techniques, not seeking professional support and advice, is a guaranteed recipe for disaster. You might get a house quicker, but the ongoing issues and costs and headaches will eventually lead to you needing to pay a lot more to get it fixed or start it all over again properly.

This is a good way to think about what you’re doing in the 10 Week Challenge. You’re doing it right. It may not be the quickest off the shelf, guaranteed to give you a six pack in six minutes approach, but it is one that lasts. it’s one that models good lifestyle choices to yourself and to those around you.

If it’s worth doing – it’s worth doing right.

Write your testimony now with the end in mind. Make it a self fulfilling prohecy of your achievements.
