Lifestyle Health 35

You made it! Five weeks of committed action to a healthier, happier you. I feel very hopeful these sustainable changes you have made can now be maintained to keep you feeling fresh and spritely each and every day!

Now remember at the very start of this course I asked you to write down exactly how you were feeling? I would like you to do the same now, without looking back at what you initially wrote. Grab another piece of paper, or a new note in your phone and write down how you are feeling now. Maybe brighter, calmer, less anxious, happier or simply just more like you? Once you have written down how you are feeling now, go back and compare it with what you wrote five weeks ago. How does it compare? Can you feel and see the difference? Have others noticed a difference?

This looking back on where we have come from is an important part of the process in creating and sustaining habits. It reminds us of what we were like, and the difference in how we are now. If you can see and feel a change – well done you, you should be very proud of yourself! If you can’t, take some time to revisit some the information I have given you, and try to implement some changes. I promise it will make a difference.

A final recap of the lifestyle aspects we have looked at:

  1. Habits – how to create them and keep them
  2. Nutrition – key tips, eating slowly, adding protein to keep you full and fruit and vegetables
  3. Alcohol – it’s impact on all aspects of our health and how to reduce it
  4. Exercise – it’s benefits, how to start, how much and how to maintain it
  5. Mental wellbeing – the continuum, self-awareness and mindfulness

Feel free to look back over the information and resources you have received over the past few weeks whenever you need a little reminder.

I wish you all the best for the future and of course – be a little bit better, not perfect!
